The Vanier Contour Slab Lounge is where aesthetic and function meet.
As the name implies, these lounges are made from solid slabs of reclaimed wood. To simplify manufacturing, most furniture manufacturers will make cuts around cracks and knots. However, when working with a slab, this is not possible. We must work with these natural features, strengthening them with epoxy and custom bowties. With this, comes an opportunity to show off the natural beauty while adding a unique flair in the process.
Inspired design.
This particular slab of walnut had difficult cracks to support so a vine like bowtie was implemented. The inlays were accented with cherry and brass to round off the theme. The pads are wrapped in a premium Italian leather.
Each Chair is unique.
This lounge is is made from a reclaimed slab of black cherry. The bowties are inspired by butterflies and the cracks are filled with a black mica tinted epoxy. The pads are wrapped in a premium Italian leather and hand stitched. One of a kind titanium plugs are inlaid into the side.
